The Vatican Swiss Guard, which function like the Papal Secret Service, are getting kinda sloppy. This is the second time in two years women have breached Vatican security during the Pope’s Christmas Eve service. Last year, before she could get to His Holiness,  guards tackled the attacker. This year a shameless rowdy harridan lunged and knocked the Pope over as he walked down the aisle, bringing Ill Papa Ratzinger and Cardinal Roger Etchegaray to the carpet. Oh the blasphemy! What a harlot! There’s video, but maybe you’ll enjoy some other shameless, rowdy harridan celebrating Jesus’ birth instead.

While the Cardinal was taken to the hospital, Ill Papa was helped to his feet, then sauntered to altar and begain hosting the Christmas Eve dinner and show. Reports say he was shaken but not stirred, and didn’t refer the incident from the altar.

This year the Vatican broke with tradition: For the first time ever.  midnight Mass on Christmas eve was celebrated two hours earlier, at 10 p.m. Oh and Ratzinger ended the year like he began it, by upsetting the Jews–earlier this month he issued a decree proclaiming the “heroic virtues” of Pope Pius XII–known as Hitler’s Pope for his silence over the Nazi persecution and slaughter of Jews–moving the controversial and rather despised Pius one step closer to sainthood. And showing that as “God’s spokesperson” Pope Benedict is pretty much a deaf and dumb jerk.
